A traditional finger rhyme, adapted into a picture book featuring five little monkeys—with adorable, expressive faces—who refuse to listen to their mother's advice.
"It was bedtime. So five little monkeys took a bath. Five little monkeys put on their pajamas. Five little monkeys brushed their teeth. Five little monkeys said good night to their mama."
And then, the five little monkeys start to jump on their bed.
But trouble lies ahead as, one by one, they fall off and bump their heads, requiring a doctor's visit each time and lots of bandages. Eventually, of course, even little monkeys have to fall asleep. And their mother can also go to bed.
With a narrative frame, and the traditional rhyme in the middle of counting down the monkeys.
